Creamy Hot Chocolate on a snowy day.
It's one of my favorite things in life!
Every first real snow, I make my kids hot chocolate and graham cracker cookies. Today we had our first snow of the year (it took long enough!), and I HAD to share my Hot Cocoa recipe. I'm super proud of this recipe because it's my very own. It took a lot of experimenting with different products out there, but I'm happy to say that I'm pretty confident we've hit perfection here.
Ingredients:
- 1 can Nature's Charm Evaporated Coconut Milk
- 1 can Nature's Charm Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk
- 6 cups Preferred Non-Dairy "Milk," like Rice, Almond, Coconut, Oat, etc. (You can use another kind, but rice and coconut blended taste very similar to dairy)
- 1/4 C Cocoa Powder
- 1 t. Vanilla Extract
Directions:
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a blender. Blend on medium until well blended and creamy.
- Pour into a large sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. If not serving right away, turn heat to low heat to keep it simmering.
- Do not boil because that will taint the flavor.
- Once Cocoa is heated to your desired temperature, pour into mugs and enjoy with your favorite toppings or mix-ins!
Suggested Toppings/Mix Ins:
Marshmallows
Whipped topping (RediWhip Coconut)
Cinnamon for garnish
Candy Canes
Torani Syrup (All kinds of allergy friendly flavors!)
***Why are brand names so specific when you're not even selling their product?
Because I really do care. I have tried other brands and so far Nature's Charm is the best one--hands down.
